EcoBiz, short for Eco-Logical Business, is a voluntary certification program recognizing businesses and agencies in Oregon that adopt best practices to prevent and minimize hazardous waste, air, and water pollution.
To gain EcoBiz certification RVSS Operations Manager Shane Macuk took several actions to improve practices at RVSS. These included clearly labeling all chemical products used on and off-site and covering all scrap metal stored on site. As part of the certification process, all RVSS employees learned about ways to prevent and prepare for hazardous spills. Additionally, sustainability practices such as committing to purchasing a percentage of our office materials with recycled content were incorporated into our standard operating procedures. RVSS “walks our talk” when it comes to our motto: “Clean Water, Healthy Communities”.
